Level 1, 333 Kent Street, Merchant House
In the post-pandemic era, workplaces are evolving from the idea of a well-designed kitchen and plant boxes. It’s not an enigma; workplace furniture are being tailored for individual working styles with designated hubs for connectivity.

A narrative of bespoke joinery woven through Level 1 and Level 7 of this heritage-listed building.
In collaboration with FDC Construction (NSW) Pty Ltd and Gray Pucksand as the designer, this substantial project was a speculative fit-out spanning two levels located on, 333 Kent Street’s heritage building (Merchant house) situated in the Sydney Central Business District on Gadigal Country.
AWM Amaroo’s task was to manufacture, supply, source and coordinate furniture and joinery for both levels of the building.
Level 1 furniture incorporates furniture that harmonises seamlessly with the oak natural timber finishes. Charming to the eye, the custom joinery illuminates the space. This is seen firstly in the reception desk, which establishes itself in its long length and light marble tiles, creating a warm introduction to the workplace. Adjacent to this sits a work lounge table with a Drum+ Base leg, complemented by a planter box.
The showstopper of this level occurs in the kitchen space. Truly a spectacle, the kitchen offers a variety of seating configurations to optimise space. The tiered seating is an alluring addition and can seat large groups particularly when functions occur in this space. A nod to café style seating, the customised oblong-shaped banquet with a planter box provides further space to eat and work.
In the centre of the workplace situates a kitchenette which is a convenient zone for people to make tea/coffee and hydrate throughout the day.

The fixed project table with a square leg system is a customised table seen near the kitchenette and can be used for individual work and collaboration. The delta adapt leg table in the meeting rooms further captures the idea of minimalism and function.
Our ergonomic seating solutions ensure comfort throughout the day. These include the Positano chairs, Milo Chairs, Venice armchairs for the focus rooms, and Q70 Task Chair for workstations and collaboration chairs.
In this remarkable project collaboration with FDC Construction (NSW) Pty Ltd & Gray Pucksand, this speculative suite on Level 1 demonstrates the pinnacle of natural elements usage in furniture to promote multifunctional spaces for work and leisure.
