Guide Dogs NSW
AWM were proudly engaged by FDC Group for Guide Dogs NSW to provide workstations, tables, seating, loose furniture and all the joinery throughout their new North Sydney office.
Guide Dogs’ NSW head office required a workspace that catered to the unique needs of visually impaired occupants and their guide dogs. The challenge was to create an inclusive and accessible office space while incorporating technology and specialised features to enhance the working environment, for 2-footed and 4-pawed team members.
Flexibility & Adaptability
This transformation included workstations featuring the GECA certified Delta and Pinnacle electric workstation systems. These workstations utilised eco-friendly Terrain Echopanel acoustic partitions, made from 50% flax, providing both a sustainable and visually pleasing solution. Bespoke joinery, including kitchen and breakout areas, added a touch of sophistication to the space, while custom-made Australian Disc Base tables with unique edge detailing contributed to the overall aesthetic.
Celebrating success with Guide Dogs
The successful project resulted in an inclusive workspace that accommodates visually impaired individuals and guide dogs while showcasing our commitment to sustainability.
Inclusivity Beyond Standard
The project’s standout feature was the incorporation of multiple dog refresh points and nooks throughout the workspace, going above and beyond typical office requirements to ensure that guide dogs could comfortably navigate and interact within the office.
Our dedication to sustainability shone through in the use of environmentally conscious materials, such as Terrain Echopanel acoustic partitions made from flax waste. This approach not only contributed to a sustainable workspace but also provided acoustic benefits.
Bespoke joinery and custom-made furniture elements, including the unique edge details of the Australian-made Disc Base tables, added an elegant touch to the office design, providing a welcoming and functional environment for all occupants.
