NSW Government, Parramatta NSW
This new building in Parramatta is now the home of a major NSW government department. Set over 12 levels, this project is one of our largest and most complex projects to date. In a timeframe of three months, AWM designed, manufactured and installed all aspects of the fit-out including round height adjustable clusters, custom acrylic screens, hundreds of workstations and desks and thousands of lockers and chairs.
Challenge
Building Sustainably
We were tasked with equipping a 12-level commercial tower in Parramatta to serve as the new headquarters for a major NSW government department. This ambitious project presented several challenges, primarily due to its sheer scale and complexity. With only a three-month timeline for completion, the project required the design, manufacture, and installation of a vast array of furniture and workstations, including height-adjustable clusters, custom acrylic screens, workstations, desks, lockers, and chairs. Additionally, the construction of the commercial tower demanded adherence to strict sustainability standards, aiming to achieve a 6 Star Green Star Office As Built v3 rating, making it a top-performing sustainable commercial building in Australia.
Solution
6 Green Star Rating
The company’s expertise in design, manufacturing, and installation ensured the successful delivery of a wide range of furniture and workstations within the tight three-month timeframe. AWM’s commitment to sustainability was in line with the project’s Green Star aspirations, contributing to the attainment of a 6 Star Green Star rating, which marked a significant milestone for the building and Parramatta as it became the first of its kind to achieve this prestigious designation. The fit-out encompassed communal spaces, end-of-trip facilities, and striking architectural features like atriums and a double-height lobby, creating a dynamic and environmentally conscious workspace for over 1,800 employees of this department.
